Now, I have decided to prioritize one translation over the rest, permanently. This doesn't mean I won't consult other translations, but it does mean I won't be using lots of others all the time. I want to basically jump in full time to one translation, work all my doctrine and beliefs from it, ignore anyone that says its inferior, and most of all call it the word of God (I am not calling my bible Jesus, although he would be the author he is THE Word).
I have chosen the King James. Its taken much soul searching, and I have expressed a lot of discontent with the translation in the past, there are things in there I disagree with, which has made it difficult for me to adjust to using it, but it has been good enough for people like Henry Morris, and Spurgeon - why not good enough for me. It's a translation that hasn't had a revision (not counting the RV, thats essentially a new translation, nor the NKJV) in 250 years, and isn't going anywhere soon. Yet the ESV has had 2 revisions in 10 years, the NIV 2 in 25 years, the NLT probably 3 or 4 since 1996..and so on.
I need something stable. I also need something eloquent and elegant whilst accurate. This was where temptation struck, and I considered using the Matthew Bible as my primary. Its a temptation that still stands. If it were in Roman text it would be a no-brainer, but my facsimile has gothic font, but it does still have advantages over the KJV, such as 'love' instead of 'charity' in 1 Corinthians 13. But it also came about prior to the Geneva Bible, and thus isn't versified. Now this is in some ways an advantage over the KJV, but it makes searching for verses quite lengthy.
So why not the Geneva Bible? Well...it doesn't read as well as the KJV, and often uses the word 'that' instead of 'the' which is quite jarring. It also has some footnotes that I dislike, such as calling behemoth an elephant - which is understandable, but still nonsensical considering the tail difference between a (undiscovered at the time) brachiosaurus and an elephant. (okay I'm biased - but so are they).
I could use the NKJV, its quite similar to the KJV, but - it doesn't have the word flow, thee and thou makes the KJV text flow so much better, and rather than sounding American (as all bibles do to me nowadays) it sounds thunderous, and Shakespearean - lighteth, cometh, shineth - its amazing!
So, the KJV is my main translation. I suggest you grab one translation, and believe it to be the inerrant word of God, I would recommend an older translation, preferably the KJV (the most popular old translation, which is still used by a lot of churches) and just use it. The propaganda which says that its hard to understand isn't true. If you have used a new translation, you will decipher the older language quite easily, many verses are actually identical to the KJV.
Not only will you free yourself from a system that seems to require a guru to teach truth, declares bible verses to be false and nonauthentic, you also take yourself away from bias - the KJV is the original ecumenical translation, its been used by every church denomination and cult in existence, from baptists, episcopalian, catholic, presbyterian, pentecostal, Jehovah's witnesses, mormons and so many more. Yet it stands up against the denomination specific translations that we seem to have today. If it is THAT good, why abandon it for a translation that will require a revision in less than a decade? Get the KJV in a great binding, and it will last you your entire life. Can you say that about the ESV legacy bible? or the NIV 2011? A church I watch online, the pastor uses the ESV 2001, and I will be reading along with my ESV 2011, and it's different.
Yet I watch Sanderson1611's sermons, and he uses the KJV and so do I!
Again I am not KJVO, I see the need in many quarters for new translations, but I wouldn't be so quick to push the KJV aside, it may have it's faults - but I can be a post-trib, conditionalist and use the KJV and still believe it to be the word of God, and believe literally that every verse is true. Sure, if I used the ESV or NIV I would find conditionalism better supported - but why should that be the case? Can both translations be right, or is one wrong? Well, it was a translational choice of the KJV to translate Sheol and Hades as Hell, I know the words behind them, so I know when it says Hell in OT its not Gehenna. Same with Hell in the NT. I'm not going to be a snob though. I can simply write Sheol in if I am that picky.
So yes, this is a confusing, fatigue-written post. Just an update *yawn*. I will probably be using another translation in a month.
Peace out brethren

Luckily I prefer my bible to the words of men, and I now understand that God's wrath abides upon them, but to say he hates them would be to ascribe a human quality to an omnipotent and omnipresent God, who has an infinite IQ, and infinite love. I also used to believe in eternal torment as well - now I am a conditionalist, and I don't see wrath as hatred so much as God being righteous and sinners facing righteous judgment and the result being destruction in the lake of fire. It is what it is, you cannot anthropomorphize God any more than you can deify man. To that I say Thank God for Jesus :)
This isn't about Westboro's theology anyway - and I don't profess my theological views are being perfect -, this is about the absolutely abominable decision by them to protest the funerals of the murdered school children at Sandy Hook Elementary. see here
If you didn't already know this, I can already imagine the absolute disgust and shock you are feeling. If God loves anyone its children, in fact Christ says the Kingdom is made of such as these. As someone who takes the bible literally, I believe that more than anything. Who's heart doesn't light up when a child is in the room? Kids are great! Being made in the image of God we love children, and would die to protect them! I'm also one who believes that children will fill the millenial kingdom - not the ones who grew into sinful adults - but the ones who never had a chance, ones like those who died yesterday.
So what I see here is more than just cruelty on Westboro's part, I see prophecy in action - Jesus said that the "love of many will grow cold", and he was referring to Christians here - or at least professing ones, he said that lawlessness would increase, and as such love would grow cold. This (in my opinion) refers to to the golden rule, which is to totally love God, and to love your neighbour as yourself. Westboro professes to love God, yet claims child killing is God's judgment, and expresses no sympathy for those grieving parents or those murdered children.
Please explain, why those children were judged? What had they done, what sins had they committed? Is God judging their parents, their community, their nation? If God is judging their parents, then why not kill them? or send a meteor into Connecticut, or destroy America. Thats how God works! look at the bible, Look at Abraham intercessing for Sodom and Gomorrah, and God responding with mercy and kindness - thats our God! The God who will save an entire city of sinners for the sake of ten righteous, or will fight with a Pharaoh for his people (Theres a reason that God chose the firstborn of Egypt - they were the eldest) .
What Westboro is saying, is that Atheists who call our God capricious and evil, are right. The God described by the Apostle John as 'love', and who's qualities are described by the Apostle Paul does not exist for them. But just to be sure, lets go through 1 John 4:8 and 1 Corinthians 13:
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1Jn 4:8 NIV)
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. (1Co 13:4-8 NIV)
Does this sound like the God of love who then sends a 20 year old into a school to shoot children? I think not, but it does sound like someone else in the bible!
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44 NIV)
What greater victory is it for the Devil, to kill children, and then have professing Christians blame it on God! Westboro bring dishonour to the name of God by saying this, they are attributing qualities to him that don't exist. God does not work like this, in darkness - let me put it like this, if God were bringing judgment down upon us, we would know it. In fact everyone will know it - thats why they will hide in caves and beg them to collapse upon them to hide them from judgment. God is upholder and sustainer, Satan is destroyer.
The messed up theology of Westboro may get them into the press, but not for evangelistic purposes, but by way of mockery, they give Christians a bad name - and not for the right reasons. There was a time that the church was persecuted for things they didn't actually do, things like cannibalism, and magic. Then later they were persecuted for denying polytheism - things which they were right to do. But throughout it all, they were known for their good works, and it was only differences in beliefs, and the occasional rumour which led to their harassment.
But nowadays, churches like Westboro make Christians look callous and heartless, even hateful, it gives atheists every reason to hate us and our God when they hear:
“Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment,” Shirley Phelps-Roper tweeted on Dec. 15.
I have to ask, what would Jesus do? This is one of those occasions where I think Jesus would help the people of Sandy Hook, and bring glory to God's name. I say this because you can almost guarantee that some of those children would have been the children of Christians, and there is great precedent in the gospels of Jesus helping Samaritans, and even Romans. So would he abandon his children, and the children of HIS children? Never. Westboro should be there helping them, feeding them, counselling them, even helping to repair the school so they can get it reopened (all of which would bring glory to the name of God - Matt 5:16).
If they don't wish to do that then they should stay away, they are an embarrassment to the faith, truly hateful, and prideful, and callous! That 20 children died is not a time to celebrate, and the idea of anyone dying is not something God celebrates, He doesn't revel in the death of anyone - even those that are wicked. Now if Westboro theology declares a 5 year old child as wicked, its not any sort of theology that I see in the bible.
Now lets look at a few verses that Westboro might find interesting:
“Do not rejoice when your enemy falls and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; or the Lord will see and be displeased and turn His anger away from him.” (Pr 24:17-18)
"He who mocks the poor taunts his Maker; He who rejoices at calamity will not go unpunished." (Pr 17:5)
"If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink, for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you." (Pr 25:21-22)
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you," (Matt 5:44)
"Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares the Lord God, rather than that he should turn from his ways and live?" (Ezekiel 18:23)
[I don't think that those children were wicked at all, it seems that Westboro do however, and therefore I am using such verses]
That a child could be considered "the enemy" to a church, is despicable. I will however tweet a link of this blog entry, to as many Phelp's as I can think of, in the hopes that they read it and repent. I feel sad for them, that they have become so wrapped up in their own concept of Godliness, and wanton vanity that they would rejoice at the death of 20 children.
Please Westboro, follow the great commission!

I love CCM, its what go me away from listening to Rihanna and Paramore and Chris Brown and all that stuff, It has it's pluses. But the thing is, people listen to that and only that, its theology-lite, and because the artists are not exactly versed in anything more than songwriting and music, often-times what comes out is man-centred, or theologically inaccurate.
Even so, some songs, such as Britt Nicole's "Gold", aim to be encouraging - it really is a lovely song - but it doesn't mention God, or Jesus once, and it's not encouraging christians, (Who would be unlikely to dress as "emos", or skateboard on sidewalks where it's not allowed), from what I can tell it's encouraging the lost, but frankly - a song like this should be telling these folks to buck their ideas up - it isn't good to dress in dark clothing and wear eyeliner and rebel against authority (I can't believe I actually just said that!), nor is it a good thing to vomit your guts up every day. It's this namby pamby idea that if someone is hurting they need a hug and encouragement.
What they need is the fear of God! Yet they get a hug. All Christians should be hardened to this nonsense, we are supposed to be expecting persecution and even execution. Yet we're being turned into cissies. Then our artists are scratching the itching ears of the lost! What is going on?
Maybe Britt thinks that the youngsters in her music video are christians, and are representative of christian youth. I don't know. But her lyrics don't suggest it:
This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world
Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high, it's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold
This is of course - a bit dodgy to say the least. You see, alot of these folks are objects of wrath right now, more so than their parents. they're fornicators, idolators, druggies and murderers. Until recent times an evangelist would never dream of telling a non-believer that they're "worth more than gold"
They would tell them that they're a sinner, that they're wicked and that if it were not for God himself we would never seek him. The bible says that we are rebels against a righteous king, that we are desperately wicked in our hearts (inside), and that we are going to die - and rightfully deserve to. There is not a man alive who hasn't broken at least one commandment (most in some way have broken them all), and as such we are fully deserving of the punishment we WILL receive, which is destruction in the lake of fire.
So don't let anybody tell you that you're not loved
And don't let anybody tell you that you're not enough
Yeah there are days when we all feel like we're messed up
But the truth is that we're all diamonds in the rough
So don't be ashamed to wear your crown
You're a king you're a queen inside and out
I don't know, but it seems that Miss Nicole is a universalist - maybe she thinks everyone is going to be saved. Yes, God loves everyone on earth, but this second line is wrong - we aren't enough. We can't save ourselves, and we will never be good enough without the help of God. We are not Kings, we are not Queens, and telling people they are may sound great, really lovely, flowers, unicorns and my little pony sort of stuff. But its not true! This woman is a professing Christian, yet she has exalted us as equal to Jesus who is our ONE, TRUE, KING. We should be ashamed to wear a crown, because its satanic! "You shall be as God, knowing good and evil".
You glow like the moon, you shine like the stars
This is for you, wherever you are
Feel good about yourself, love yourself - yay. With songs like this, maybe nonbelievers will start listening to CCM. Then we can just take out any sort of gospel centred stuff, and then we can just congratulate ourselves on how great we are.
Its understandable from "the world", who have no concept of sin, who deny God in all areas, who have no hope. But from a supposed Christian artist this is unacceptable. Who taught her? What denomination does she represent? Because this isn't theology, its worldy self-esteemism, self congratulatory prattling. I told you this was a rant.
But as a final though - have a look at the lyrics, remember that this is played on Positive, encouraging, "christian' music stations, and ask yourself how different this is from secular music.
Then ask yourself, how different is this from, amazing grace, how great thou art, great is thy faithfulness - which are songs about, our position, God's position, and God's relationship to us.
Then remember that there is a whole genre of music just like this, which calls itself christian.

I need this! I probably read my bible daily, but its more of a glossing over whilst the TV is on, or looking at it whilst watching Founders Baptist Church on Sermonaudio.com, it simply isnt the same as devouring the word whilst sitting quietly on your own away from distraction. It's been two days and already I can sense the difference. It aids in retention of meaning [and often of verses themselves], you feel more "switched on", and add to that a good nights sleep [it helps to read before bed, and when you get up, so you can slash those numbers in half] and this can make a substantial difference in your life.
Horner has spent 25 years with the same bible, and can tell you exactly where in his bible a certain verse is, "(I Peter 3:15; right-hand page, right hand column, 1/3rd way down)". I don't exactly want to be that pious, but it shows how going over and over YOUR bible, making sure to use the same one, can really make a difference - I mean if he can remember location, maybe we can remember the verse itself? This is why I want to follow this plan, I had no structure in my reading, and as such I would likely never be able to retain it, at least not in a feasible amount of time. But to volunteer 60-80 minutes a day (morning and night together) to a bible plan that WILL make a difference is little, its like a seed on good soil that will in its time yield a hundredfold.
Anyway, its day two, I'm reading from my ESV legacy bible. Heres what it looks like
Its perfectly suited to reading. I have it in trutone, but if needs be I can always invest in leather. But the binding is sturdy, and it will last many years to come. The fonts are big, comfortable to read from the lap, and it holds the ten bookmarks I have in it. Its funny, I've just bought a NET bible (which I intend to review soon) but I still end up using my traditional ESV for something like this. I guess it speaks volumes of the quality of the ESV as a translation, and perhaps of me as a big ol' conservative.
The translation does suit reading, I doubt the reformers would have wanted to be seen lugging round an NLT or CEB in their day. Whilst those translations would suit those who don't have English as a first language. For us Brits I think a nice ESV or NKJV would do far more good, simply because you are reading a direct translation rather than a dynamic one. [often you see in the NET notes "heb:" "grk:" and what it says is often what is in the ESV such as in Joshua "their hearts melted away"].
So yes, I will update when I have been following this plan longer- as always I veered off the subject. But inevitably I will when I start talking bible translations - my pet subject.
God bless and I hope you have a great day.

LESS coverage of word counts this time. I simply want to give a few words of advice when it comes to Christian music. Listen to both, a good idea would be to get a mission praise [latest edition] it features older hymns, and newer CCM [up to about 2006/2007 I think], compare for yourself the difference. Hymns tend to be big on theology, there are hymns that cover everything from the crucifixion, the trinity, creation, faith to the resurrection. Theres hundreds of years of hymns that literally cover everything you can think of.
CCM is more devotional than theolological. Chuck Missler calls it 7-11 music. He is right, it IS. Its a modern version of devotional hymn music thats meant to make money. Whether it be the artist or the corporation behind them, there is something dodgy about that. But you are under no obligation to buy their music, listening is free, and you are free to perform their songs in church - after all - who is going to stop you from playing a guitar or a piano and singing?
So whatever the intention behind music, whatever the lyrics say [whether it is me me me, or you you you] whats the intention behind YOU? If you are singing "I am redeemed", or "How great thou art", do you mean it? Are you sure you are redeemed, is God really great to you?
I think that that is what matters. There are pastors who preach that CCM is Satanic, that drums are evil, that music is meant to be beautiful because God is beautiful and anything less is evil. But as someone who has attended churches where the singing is anything but beautiful, yet is traditional - compare it to Aaron Shust or Matt Redman and I truly think that beauty is in the ear of the listener.
Anyway this is only a short one - felt that I hadn't really covered all the bases with my original post.
God bless you reader!
PREVIOUSLY I wrote about the resurrection and its impact on the christian faith. It is an essential of the faith, for if Jesus was not resurrected -he wasn't the Son of God, and if we are not resurrected after death - then our faith is meaningless.
Put succinctly enough I hope. This is why those who are not Christians must deny Jesus' resurrection! I am going to basically go over some theories against the resurrection- I'm not going to debunk them, there's no need for that. But I will lay them out here as best as I can so that you can see for yourself what Christendom is up against. If in the future I do a part three, I intend to explain heaven, and where and what it is - I may possibly do that seperately, although it encroaches on resurrection territory.
1. A denial of Jesus' existence entirely. This is not a common argument amongst scholars, after all there is more evidence of Jesus than there is of Julius Caesar. You will likely find this argument from someone untrained in history or archaeology. After all it's hard to believe that a figment of the imagination was "crucified, and buried", and accounted of in various histories (that of Josephus, Herodotus and Tacitus). But there is an argument (which I used in my RE GCSE back in 2002 and got a B for actually!) that Rome invented Christ as a means to subvert the Jewish faith. Now, there are so many holes in this argument, as to why Rome would care about Jewish belief, why they would invent a false god who would eventually topple their own "civilized" beliefs, and also how they could come up with this - inevitably fulfilling prophecies that the Jews themselves had never thought of. The logistics of hanging a man on a cross, paying off the disciples, re-inventing an alien religion, and after all that, creating a PACIFIST religion which denies Caesar as god, yet the Jews acknowledged Caesar's divinity "We only have one King- Caesar". It makes no sense.
Josephus: Antiquities 18.3.3 Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was the Christ, and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men among us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day; as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians so named from him are not extinct at this day.
2. The disciples stole the body. Yes, this old chestnut remains today, this makes little sense, the disciples steal the body and yet proclaim him alive - even going to their deaths? If Jesus was dead, his church died with him. Theres no getting out of that unless the disciples had a death wish, which I doubt considering the gospel stories which often show the disciples afraid of death!
3. The crucifixion didn't actually kill Jesus: Some people believe that "in those days" medicine just hadn't advanced enough to know when people were dead. They believe that Jesus had slipped into deep unconsciousness after being whipped by a cat and nine tails, forced into near exhaustion by carrying the cross, being kicked and beaten by guards, having nails driven through his hands and feet, being fed vinegar instead of water, spending hours in agonizing pain on the cross and then having his heart pierced by a spear (blood and water spurting out indicates his heart was pierced) just put him into a coma.
Now I can't really describe how awful crucifixion is, but it plays on exhaustion. You see they force you to carry your cross which weighs alot, then they put you on the cross in such a position as every breath you take causes you to have to lift yourself. The more tired you get, the more you suffocate. This is why they break your legs if you aren't dead. Your own body weight suffocates you.
So after having his heart pierced, Jesus then lay in a tomb, with no water or food, gigantic welts and exposed ribcage on his back, and a heart with a spear sized hole in it.
4. A Disciple died instead. Basically some muslims believe that Jesus - a prophet - allowed one of his disciples to take his place, then Jesus could claim to be resurrected. However, if this were remotely possible, this would mean Jesus would - drive a nail through each hand, each foot, and stab himself in his side - as well as convince all his disciples to go along with this even TO DEATH.
Put yourself in this position, a friend of yours has just died, and now this guy who claimed to be the son of God is asking you to die as well, yet you know hes a liar, and as every Jew knows - God doesnt lie!
5. A Spiritual resurrection: Held by New Agers, they believe Jesus became an Ascended Master who raised himself to a higher plane of existence. They believe that Christians have the wrong end of the stick and Jesus wasnt the son of God, but on a quest for godhood. Just like Buddha.
Now, these arguments dont exist in a vacuum, theres a good reason why they exist. With 2000 years between the cross and today, anyone can say anything and there is literally no proof either way. I could say that there are fairies living on Jupiter, but unless I and my opponent could go there we can't prove it right or wrong. This is what feeds the debate on this, Christians will vehemently defend the resurrection, Opponents will attack it. There is a real hatred of the faith these days, many see it as the cause of all the world's problems - along with other religions. Best to reply with love.
This is no comprehensive guide to arguments against the resurrection, there are likely more. But I just hope that this gives you some common sense arguments, or a new perspective on and for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Next Part I will definitely cover the other resurrection - OURS.
That will be a few weeks away, other stuff to come in the meanwhile.

ITS not often that I feel disgusted, but over the last few days, hearing about how Saville has rather filthily abused and used hundreds of vulnerable children, I've felt rather uncomfortable and sick.
What is it about grown men and children? Little boys and girls having their innocence stolen to get kicks. Rape, molestation, a kind of primitive animalistic instinct to protect comes forth.
Then we have to ask, where were the mums and dads in these jobs who knew of this stuff, yet did nothing to protect children who could just as easily have been their own? Vile.
This proves something to me, those in power - whether it be media or government- are sick, sick in their heads and sick in their souls. They knew! Everyone knows it, you cannot keep something like this a secret, a man having a flat INSIDE a childrens hospital, volunteering as a porter, sneaking about late at night, dragging sick children back to his room and raping them!
So why has this been released now? Why is Britain up in arms about Saville today?
Because war is coming, and until it suits our governments, it has to be kept from our attentions:
Whether it be Syria, Iran, Pakistan, China, Russia - the West will have another enemy to fear (yes fear), no one is really scared of Terrorists anymore. We need a powerful nation that could conquer us, otherwise why fear? No one was scared of Iraq or Afghanistan, just terrorists, but that fear has run its course - it would only take another attack to terrify us again, but its not the same as a full on war, lots of death and carnage. It takes stories like Saville, and others I won't mention, to give us truth, but also a big distraction to keep us occupied from the manipulation and deviousness of our "betters".
This is why things cost so much, time was an Earl, or a Lord would be ordered by the King or Queen to increase taxes (thank you World without End) as a "war is coming", well thats what is happened, its being blamed on a recession, but I theorize that this money is being stock-piled in order to buy weapons, pay soldiers, and to buy food. It seems that out of times of economic downturn, a war happens. Just in recent history we had the Falklands after the big boom and bust. Now usually we say that the war is a distraction, but what if the boom and bust was the distraction to pay for the war.
War not only scares us but it excites us, and its perfect for distracting us from our freedoms being restricted, in fact it often helps to make us more willing.
I believe that this war will be a big one. Not only do we have Pakistan under attack today by a US drone, we have Turkey grounding a Syria passenger plane - much to Russia's chagrin. The US is claiming that the issue in Syria is making the region unstable [which inevitably means "leading to war" not an earthquake] We also have various clashes between Syria and Turkey throughout the year.
Yet none of this is really being reported, instead we have Saville and other very distressing news - I'm not criticizing the real impact these events have in peoples live, but the issue is that important VERY important events are happening which the John Doe on the street has no idea about, BBC News should be leading with Syria and potential WW3, not Jimmy Saville. It is disgusting what this man has done, but It should not be the first story we hear. If the Middle East erupts into war - the world will erupt into war! Whether planned by the elites or purely accidental is irrelevant, lives will be lost.
Yes I've had a new laptop, so no more phone blogging, I can't say how much of a relief this is! There is nothing more irritating than writing on a 2 inch keyboard! I have a few subjects that I want to cover over the next few weeks:
NET Bible First Edition
An overview of Calvinism
The importance of going to a good church
The NWO where it is today
Is the NWO the seat of antichrist, or is it the truth movement?
I can't promise when these will be written, because right now I'm kind of concentrating on learning survival techniques, as well as work and church. Its not that blogging is any less a priority than these, you who read my blog are extremely important, thats why I want to write better, and be able to give you more information than a rant. I want to educate, I want to invigorate! I mean, I look back a couple of years and I was writing some great stuff, and these days, I seem to use the blog to vent my anger.
Anyway, I should be receiving my NET Bible tomorrow, £55 off Ebay, it's in burgundy bonded leather (shame, although apparently its high quality stuff) and its as thick as the ESV study bible. So I'll spend a few days with it, and then I'll write a top notch review for you. I want to cover the leather, layout, and the footnotes, Then I have every intention of lauding the translation itself, its a very good translation! I do need to spend more time with it though.

Lets look at the top 10 as of this date (30/8/2012)
1. 10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman
2. Me Without You by tobyMac
3. Losing by Tenth Avenue North
4. Forgiveness by Matthew West
5. Center Of It by Chris August
20 self centred references to 15 God centred references.
4. You/your [reference to man] 8
You/your [God] 2
me - 9
17 references to man, 2 to God.
I suggest you check the lyrics of these songs, they are so selfish. compare it to a hymn from the 19th century, or even the 50s..and the difference is stark:
Abide in me
me - 12
Lord - 5
thee - 1
thy - 7
my - 3
15 references to man
20 to God.
It may not seem an apparent difference, but, in the songs I have analysed already, its man over God always.
More tomorrow, I have to work now.

Firstly, to say that anyone has been to hell and come back is just plain stupid. Hell is not a holiday resort, its a place of destruction, its like throwing the rubbish into the garbage disposal. In fact - thats exactly what hell is! God is going to make a new heaven and a new earth, and he's going to populate it with US - that is - those who had faith and believed in him! His obedient sheep will be given fresh green pastures, springs of eternal water, and forever he will be our good shepherd.
Those who were disobedient will be cast away, just as those factory bred sheep are led away to slaughter.
Pretty much, thats all this is about! Its not about legalism, its about obedience to God, not by doing stuff right or wrong, but about in our hearts..we can sin and still love God, but its just that when we sin we tend to love ourselves more than him - yes that is a problem, but its not a death sentence for the saved, its a stumbling block that through prayer and communion with God through Jesus will be removed - this is sanctification. If you are saved, there IS NO WAY you are going to hell. In fact, if you are saved by God on Monday, sin on Tuesday, and die on Wednesday without repenting of it, it doesnt matter - God has saved you, you will enter his rest.
That is not to say we shouldnt repent, yes we should, but its more about Him than us, it represents his salvation, but it doesnt mean salvation. Salvation comes from his grace [loving kindness] poured out upon us. Its like infant baptism, it doesnt save, how many people throughout history were led to believe that an unbaptised baby would be in hell? thousands, hundreds of thousands. Then one man [John Wycliffe] comes along and says NO, this is unscriptural! Baptism is simply a foreshadowing of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, it is from the heart, not from external things - that God judges us.
So, these videos come along, apparently prophetic visions, some kid gets a "message from God" and sees a Christian woman in Hell. Now that should raise your eyebrow. A Christian in Hell? Apparently Jesus Christ's death on the cross wasn't good enough? Yes, this is blasphemy.
You see, if you don't do enough good, it doesnt matter what happened to Jesus in your place, you will burn. If you have a sin you haven't repented of, you're going to hell! [missing the whole point of repentance].
The title of this should actually be "Lady who professed Christianity will be destroyed in Hell". You see, then it would be scriptural, okay..it would still be a demonic lie [in that this is likely the source of this so-called vision], but it would be representative of the biblical view. "You are either WITH me OR AGAINST me", Jesus told his disciples, your house is either on rock OR on sand. So this lady was either Christian and saved, or an unsaved Pagan. Jesus said it again when he pointed out "On that day many will say to me 'Lord did we not prophecy in your name, and in your name cast out demons?' and I [Jesus] will say to them 'depart from me you workers of lawlessness, I never [notice that] knew you".
I NEVER KNEW YOU.
Not - as they make out - "I saved you, but you didnt repent!" If Jesus died for you...thats it! So lets look at what the uploader wrote about this video:
"To see full video: http://youtu.be/hQXrh3P3Dp4 Victoria Nahale who is from Namibia in Africa saw a Christian lady was in hell. That shocked her. This lady had unrepnted sin. As a Christian, do you still sin again and again? Have you thought about that sin may bring you to hell? It is time to repent! It is time to stop that sins! It is time to turn away from that sins! More than that, it is time to surrender all to Jesus! You are the one who die in Christ but Christ is the one who works within you!"
I have pretty much refuted all this, as a "believer" I find it shocking how anyone could believe that unrepented sin condemns a saved person to Hell. There is a time this sort of stuff would have shocked me and scared me but now it just turns my stomach that people could fall for it. The whole point of this demonic deception is to scare christians into leaving the faith. If this is too hard for you you may just give up, obviously that may be pre-ordained, but..regardless you are saved if you believe that Jesus died for you on the cross. If you do then you are saved!
The idea of 'unrepented sin' comes from modern works salvation doctrines that preach lies and deception. Remember that Jesus died on the cross for a reason, any sin you could possibly remember and repent of is covered, as well as all those sins you cannot remember. IF YOU COULD GO TO HELL FOR UNREPENTED SIN EVERY SINGLE CHRISTIAN WHO HAS EVER LIVED WOULD BE IN HELL!
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Romans 11:6
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:9
If you are afraid that these videos may be right, I would suggest that you find a place in the bible that says anything about a place called hell that resembles what I know will be mentioned in that video [despite me not seeing it]. Hell is not a torture chamber, Hell is not a place where demons abuse humans, Hell is not a place where people become skeletons then their flesh is restored, Hell is not a place where people cry out to Jesus and Jesus weeps over them powerlessly and warns little african girls to "tell the world". I exhort you with everything that I am, to ignore, denounce, even report these videos. Do not be deceived, Satan can appear as an angel of light, and he will use every device at his disposal to make your journey through life as hard as he can. If he can make you question the sovereignty of God over his own people! What more can he make you question..the resurrection? the Spirit? Your own salvation? Maybe he could make you hate God? Maybe you could denounce God?
Think about it, its a slippery slope! Thats what these videos are all about,

I personally believe that all sermons should revolve around the gospel in some way, even if we are preaching about Joshua destroying the great wall, or about Samuel proclaiming Saul king, it should be in light of the gospel truth. But many churches don't do this, and sadly the one I have been attending doesnt. Therefore I have to leave and move on.
I have been attending on-off for about 3 or 4 months. I have even blogged about it, but I won't mention its name because I am speaking negatively about it, and frankly, I wouldnt want to ruffle feathers if someone decides to check out my facebook and inadvertently finds this blog.
The people at the church are lovely people. Very welcoming and friendly. The only issue I have is the preaching, and of course the theological slant of the church [love and nothing else really]. The minister has been kind enough to try to take me under his wing, the people have been gracious, but I cannot get over the use of itinerant preachers who are: Self Self Self. Everything is about feeling good, and I remember a person [who shall remain nameless] pointing to a picture of Jesus on the Cross and saying "This is what we are all about here". No it isnt! If it were you wouldnt have to point at that picture and state that would you!
I can't actually remember a single sermon, it doesnt not edify or raise my mind, it doesnt make me *feel* christian. It simply is a place to go, and when I can log into sermonaudio and hear sermons that make me have chills, and reduce me to tears (thank you Pastor Richard Caldwell jr of Founders Baptist Church), I have to wonder why I don't make a little more effort and travel a little further to hear THAT sort of preaching in my local area.
The only problem is that this church is REALLY local, and that really I feel like I will be letting people down. But I have to make a stand for the gospel, for Jesus Christ. If everybody did what I was doing and simply left churches that no longer preached the gospel, either that church would shut down, or those in power would buck up their ideas. There is a church, a BIG church, just a couple of miles from me, that follows a similar doctrine [interestingly both these churches are methodist] of nothing but love, that means: no justification, no sanctification, no repentance, no predestination, no conviction, no salvation!
If people do not hear the gospel, how then are they to be saved? You can talk all day about how much God loves me, but what am I meant to do with that. My cat loves me, my family loves me, But God loves me sooo much! and? What is that for me? Does God want me to feel good? Yay God loves me: and?
God loves me, and he sent his only son to die on the cross for my sins, so that 1980 years later I could say, I accept and trust in you and what you did for me, never let me go Lord. Thank you!
Thats the simple gospel, he died that we may live, and he rose again so that we may live even MORE. his death is our salvation, and his resurrection is our promise of our resurrection into glory!
Of course, methodism preaches none of this. Instead it preaches; well I couldnt say, I remember none of it [therefore it must be bad]. I know its a form of arminianism, I know that its so lightweight that often the MESSAGE is used! seriously, the message?! this is preached to women of 90, the message! Can you imagine in your lifetime going from the KJV to the Message? Wow, how far we have fallen church, I don't particularly love the KJV but even I know how bad that is.
I now disavow methodism, I will hopefully (short of christenings etc) never attend one again. I am going to take two weeks off of church until my hours at work allow me to attend a further away church (darn sunday bus service), tomorrow I must inform the minister that I am leaving never to return. But if I am to get right doctrine I must move on. This is not just for me, this is for my future family. If I am to settle at this church, what example will I set for them? What was it that was said in courageous; "I dont have to ask who will teach my children, I WILL, I am their father", so if I teach them right doctrine (when I have them obviously) and take them to a 'heretical' church, wont that cause a mental conflict?
So for my family's sake, I will set an example, but cutting all ties with this church and moving on. No church ( for now ) is better than some church.
"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:8
"Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes. They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD." Jeremiah 23:16
"I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them." Romans 16:17
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves." Matthew 7:15
"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1

I would say yes. This is indicated by the epidemic of mental illness in our society. The deep longing that causes people to become neurotic, its not for money or riches, but for a meaning to life. I find that one of the major searches for meaning comes in the form of "individuality" rather than conformity. Instead of belonging to a group, people try to be different than others. However this does tend towards conformity, due to the nature of media and its influence on the population at large. For instance:
>Media will postulate an idea/concept
> this idea/concept is received by the population
> idea/concept is stored in the mind
> idea/concept is enacted at the behest of our controllers.
It could be anything: for instance: people are killed by men with guns, therefore guns must be bad, thus guns must be banned - which would result in an unarmed population left weak and defenceless, anyone who flouted the ban and owned a gun, would potentially be king.
Another idea has been brewed for decades. The idea that both sexes are at odds. This has led to a massive increase in homosexuality in the western world, which is supported by the media and political establishment. It is the "in" thing nowadays among youth. Not only does this spit in God's face, it spits in the face of men and women who wish to marry and have children. It leaves people unable to answer. How can you answer someone who claims to be attracted to their own gender? It instantaneously closes any argument. You cannot argue for affection, you cannot make someone like you, let alone your gender. Yet it is false, and anyone who receives this answer does well to immediately step away from the situation. Avert your eyes from such wickedness. Satan is in control there. Pray for them.
As implied above, media provides meaning for the majority of people. As such the world is populated by dysfunctional, immature, judgmental children, who exist, they do not live. The bible calls these people "objects of wrath". For they don't think, they don't question. They follow what the world tells them to follow.
My request for you all is that you would think, ask yourself what you hold dear. What idols do you cling to? Is it your sexuality? Your false religion? Your guru? Does the media give you ideas to believe? Then I offer a solution:
The meaning given by the cross, is new life,
instead of looking to the world for meaning, we look to Jesus.
We follow his example! After all he is the one who gave us new life in his death, sealing it with his resurrection.
In revelation the voice from heaven tells us to
"Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 18:4-5".
When we trust in Christ for our salvation, we are assured that God has forgotten our iniquities. We are new creations! God gives us new meaning in that we can now finally do what God wants us to. We are not enemies of God. We are now members of a new kingdom, when we die we will live again. So now we represent that new kingdom here on Earth. We represent this kingdom by taking upon ourselves the qualities express by Christ, and by our faith comes our deeds.
"But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. James 2:18"
We don't do good to BE SAVED, but because we are saved.
The deadness of our old lives is now irrevocably changed to life in our new. We know God is real, we trust he is in control, and through sanctification become more and more representative of him and his wants. As the old hymn says
"Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works thy hand hath made,
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!"
So what is the point of this post? It is to indicate to you that meaning comes from God. Without him nothing matters. If you are not with him you are against him. But if you repent and trust in him for your salvation, you will find real meaning. Nothing on Heaven or Earth compares to the glory of God, and to be a child of God is to share in his awesomeness and power, he will give you meaning, because as the liberal christians say "God has a great and awesome plan for your life", of course when they say that to a non-christian that plan is wrath and destruction. But if God chooses you it is glory to him! You have every reason to choose him, but it is his grace that he chooses you. If you are in the slightest bit affected by what I have said, consider that God is showing his affection for you. Turn from your sins, read the gospel. Hear if you have ears to hear.

Bill Cooper said in 2001 "They must do something terrible, because they haven't succeeded in getting the guns out of the hands of the American people".
My heart and prayer goes out to those poor people and their families. But I must question how a medical student who describes himself as "easy-going" suddenly goes on a rampage and kills a dozen or more people and maims 50. Its really quite odd, tragic indeed. But the question now shouldn't be "what drastic measure do we take to protect our children from nasty boogeymen", but: "who or what caused this person to a. Drop out of university, b. Kill more than a dozen people c. Get caught so easily on the car park"
Also How did he learn to use explosives so well? Why this film?
Questions need to be asked, who does this benefit? Immediately I think, those who would dominate us. It brings to mind Dunblane and Columbine, when Dunblane occurred in the UK, it led to the mass destruction of weapons and an immediate ban, Britain has never had the kind of revolution that led to the republic, the legacy of which is the right to bear arms so that no power could ever dominate the American people (unless its done by stealth to a weak minded population). Guns are of course part of American culture, and it would take a lot for them to relinquish their guns..that is a lot of massacres.
What are the immediate media responses? Metal detectors and gun bans. That's no joke, I have heard this on the news. If this massacre doesn't cause some sort of response from government (it likely will, using this coincidental "tragedy" as an excuse) then there will be more shootings until people A. Figure out who is causing it B. Beg the government to amend the constitution banning guns nationwide.
My belief is, intelligence agencies approached Holmes, they had assessed the best area to attack, and needed someone pliable enough. They probably offered to wipe his traffic violation (which may have affected his chance of a job) if he helped them out - after all he is a Neuroscience student. They then instituted various forms of mind control- and then sent him back into the world to live his life normally - until a month ago.
A month ago he went into training, physical and mental, ready to kill, he was set off yesterday.
This is my opinion, I would ask you dear reader to understand that I am not making light of what happened. I am in fact trying to make sense of it. Nothing occurs in a vacuum, its not a coincidence. This has a purpose! This is why many countries in the world are getting the lightest reporting on it, while America is being saturated with reports on the shooting. You must be programmed to respond as your masters wish you to.
